Later, Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten with 69 runs, while Washington Sundar contributed 12 runs. This took India’s total to 427/6, after which they declared their innings, setting England an imposing target of 608 runs to win.
In the bowling department for England, Josh Tongue and Shoaib Bashir took 2 wickets each, while Joe Root and Brydon Carse took one wicket each.
England Struggles at 72/3 in Second Innings
In response, England’s team entered the field with aggressive minds. Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley started attacking in 1st over, but Siraj had another plan to get Zak Crawley in his 2nd over.
Ben Duckett scored a quick 25 runs, but Akash Deep got his wickets, and Joe Root scored 6 runs. By stumps on Day 4, England had crawled to 72/3. England still needed 536 runs to win on the final day.
