The future of the Asia Cup 2025 became uncertain after military tensions between India and Pakistan escalated following the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Diplomatic talks between the two countries have not resumed since then.

“There is no truth in such reports as so far the BCCI has neither had any discussion nor taken any step regarding the upcoming ACC events, let alone writing anything to the ACC,” he was quoted as saying by Times Now.
Asia Cup 2025 is played in the T20 Format
This year, the Asia Cup will be played in the T20 format, which is a preparation for the T20 World Cup in 2026. In 2026, 20 teams are participating in the competitions. Eight teams, including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, UAE, Oman and Hong Kong, will compete in the group stage and followed by the Super Four format, and then the Top 2 teams from the Super Four will face off in the final
