Kaif on Bumrah: After the current series against England, Jasprit Bumrah may decide to retire from Test cricket, according to former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif. Kaif said Jasprit Bumrah’s body did not respond as much as he delivered.
Jasprit Bumrah Not at His Best, Says Kaif
In a video shared on social media. Kaid said that Bumrah didn’t look fully fit during the ENG vs IND 4th Test in Manchester. He further said Bumrah seemed to be forcing himself while bowling. Most of the deliveries were mostly between 130 and 135 km/h, which is less than his normal speed.
Kaif also said Jasprit Bumrah is a team player. If he feels he can’t help India win or take wickets, he might walk away from Test cricket. That’s just my personal opinion.
Kaif on Bumrah: Be Ready for Tests Without Bumrah
Mohammad Kaif asked the fan to prepare for a future without Bumrah in Tests. Bumrah’s passion towards Test cricket is still strong, but his body is not holding up. During the Manchester Test, Bumrah bowled only one over with the 2nd new ball and then left the field and looked uncomfortable while walking.
Jasprit Bumrah is Team India’s No. 1 bowler over the year. It could be interesting for fans to see how they react to Kaif’s statement on Jasprit Bumrah.
Is Bumrah’s Body Giving Up?
Jasprit Bumrah has encountered several injuries throughout his career. Playing Test cricket can be physically demanding for fast bowlers. Mohammad Kaif believes that Bumrah might consider retiring from red-ball cricket to concentrate more on white-ball formats like ODIs and T20Is, which are shorter and less taxing on the body.
Although there is no official word from Bumrah or the BCCI, Kaif’s comments have started serious talks about Bumrah’s future in Test cricket.
Only time will tell what decision Bumrah takes, but fans will surely miss him if he decides to step away from the format where he has been one of India’s top pacers.
